People Also Ask:

What age do you have to be to sign up for coaching?

I work with all gender identities ages 18 years or older. Occasionally, I partner with individuals under the age of 18 on a case by case basis. Have your parent/guardian contact me if you are interested in my coaching programs.

Why do I need an ED or wellness/health or life coach?

Coaching provides awareness, clarity, objectivity, feedback, empathy, motivation, and understanding while you are working though your challenges. A coach will help you to set goals and create action plans to ensure the best possible outcomes as you move toward achieving your goals. Coaches also provide inspiration, support, and accountability along the way.

Our culture has taught us that hard work and doing it on your own are the keys to finding life and career success, wealth, fulfillment, and happiness. Most people believe they must make sacrifices in order to achieve their goals. But, sacrifice is not necessary. You can have it all! Maybe not right this second, but with coaching, you’ll find you don’t have to sacrifice anything to get what you want. You will need to make beneficial changes and create new habits, yes, but the results will be worth it. You can live a vibrant, healthy, fulfilling, joyful life, and you don't have to do it alone. I would love to work with you to help you achieve the life you envision for yourself.

When will my binge urges or obsessive thoughts go away? When will I break the patterns, thinking, and habits that are keeping me stuck?

Most people can break their disordered eating behaviors or unwanted habits in 12 weeks. However, It typically takes 3-6 months to rewire your brain or develop a new habit, and another 3-6 months to fully embedded these new neural pathways and habits into your daily life and routines. You are unique, and your journey will be unique as well. It could take longer or it could take a shorter period of time.

How can I be sure that online coaching is effective?

Research indicates that online coaching is as effective, and in many cases, more effective than in person coaching. (Ahrend et al, 2010) (Stice et al, 2012) (Ruward et al, 2012) (Sutton, Jeremy, PH.D. 2021). Online coaching saves time, is convenient, easier to schedule, is more affordable, and provides you with more flexibilty.

Is coaching private and confidential?

Absolutely! All of your session records and notes are held in a secure, locked, password protected file on a locked computer. Only you and I can view your records/file. Your files/records may be shared with others only if you provide written permission and consent to do so. Your files/records are held securely for one year after completion of your coaching program. After one year, all files/records are permanently deleted. I comply with GDPR, CDPA and CPA policies.

Do you take insurance?

Unfortunately, coaches are not covered by insurance plans to date. Should this change, I will gladly provide you with receipts that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. It is always good to check with your insurance company to be sure of your coverage.

What is "full recovery," and is it really possible?

Some people believe that recovery lasts a lifetime. I believe in full recovery - being completely recovered. I am an example of an individual who is fully recovered. Full recovery means that you no longer engage in disordered eating or eating disorder behaviors. It is simply not a part of your life anymore - you are recovered.

While I believe that full recovery is possible, I also believe that it is up to each individual to define what their version of recovery looks like and to let this guide our work together. You are unique, and your recovery journey will be unique as well.

I also know that ambivalence, frustration, fear, the waxing and waning of motivation, relapses, and feeling hopeless are a normal part of the recovery journey, You can get there. You can recover. I would love to take this journey with you.

How do I sign up and pay for my sessions?

I bill sessions through Paypal. Payment is required in advance of your session whether billed monthly, every 6 months, every 3 months or as a single session. Once I have received your payment, I will send you a link to schedule your sessions.

How many sessions should I sign up for?

It is entirely up to you. I recommend a minimum of three months of weekly sessions to get the most out of coaching and to start seeing significant benefits and changes. For Life/Wellness/Health Coaching, one or two individual sessions per month is typical. You may, however, work with me for as long as you choose. See the Pricing section for more information.

How quickly do you respond to emails?

Emails and email coaching are not an "SOS" response. I answer all email within 48 hours - typically within 24 hours.

Do you give refunds?

All sessions must be cancelled 24 hours prior to the session time. Sessions that are not cancelled with 24 hours notice will be rescheduled. If a rescheduled session is unavailable, the cost for the original session will be billed to you. Once minimum requirements are met, you may cancel your program at any time. The cost of unused sessions paid in advance will be refunded to you.

What is the difference between therapy and coaching?

Therapists and licensed mental health practitioners have specialized training to help you examine the "Why" of what you do.  They are also able to diagnose and treat other psychological issues which might be present such as depression, anxiety, or a trauma history. It is not essential, however, to understand the "why" of your behaviors in order to recover or make lasting changes and create beneficial habits. Therapists typically focus on the past and present while coaches focus on the present and future.

Coaches are trained to support the work and treatment goals you have with your therapist, treatment team, personal trainer, nutritionist (should you be working with any one of these) to focus on the “here and now” and the How of recovery and growth and/or changing your habits.

Coaches help you to clarify your goals, identify obstacles and challenges, and create action plans. Coaches provide support, inspiration, motivation, and accountability.

Coaching can be 1:1 (you and your coach) or as an addition to the work you are doing with your therapist, nutritionist, or other health/medical professional. Coaches can work with you in areas where you might need support in your daily life and for variable lengths of time.

I have a "lived experience," and I strive to provide you with a source of hope, support, and inspiration that full recovery and/or habit changes are possible. From my own experiences and training, I am adept in adjusting my approach to suit the needs of each client.
